Vivekananda Yoga University (VaYU) is the world’s first yoga university outside of India, dedicated to Graduate education and research in Yoga. VaYU is located in Los Angeles, California, USA.
Founded on the principles of the great 19th century Hindu Guru Swami Vivekananda’s prescription for universal welfare, VaYU offers online graduate programs based on scientific principles and modern research approaches to the ancient Indian practice of yoga. VaYU is thus a blend between the best of the East with the best of the West.
VaYU faculty have been recruited from SVYASA – the first yoga university in India. VaYU faculty routinely collaborate on research projects with world renowned research institutions such as Harvard University, UC San Francisco, UT Austin, MD Anderson Cancer Research Center, MIT, etc.
Modern learners like minimal disruption to their lives and career but would like to use their flexible time to enhance their education and pursue their passion. Responding to this trend, VaYU has created an online graduate curriculum that is geographically-neutral with time-flexible delivery. This allows professionals, and committed seekers or ‘sadhakas’ interested in the augmenting their knowledge without pausing their lives, and get their degree without relocating and disrupting their lives.
