VNIT has signed an MoU with ISRO on 18th March 2021 to set up Space Technology lncubation Centre (STIC) at VNIT Nagpur.
The center is setup for western region of lndia covering states of Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Union Territories of Daman Diu and Dadra & Nagar Haveli.
The objective of the STIC is to create Space Entrepreneurs in lndia.
ISRO through STIC wishes to strengthen the interaction with academic institutions to encourage students and faculty members for research in this area resulting into new products.
ISRO has come out with YUKTI Sanchita 2021 (https:/iwww.isro.qov.in/capacitv-buildinq/vuktisanchita-2O21) the list of the 108 problem statements identified, and expecting innovative solutions for it from institutions. STIC is expected to focus on 46 problems (No. 301 to 346) of this YUKTI Sanchita 2021.
