University Grant Commission issued notice to Digital University of Skill Resurgence, Ring Road, Wardha, Maharashtra which is offering various courses /programme in gross violation of UGC Act 1956. The section 22 of this act clearly mentions that “The right of conferring or granting degrees shall be exercised only by a University established or incorporated by or under a Central Act, a Provincial Act or a State Act or an institution deemed to be a University under section 3 or an institution specially empowered by an Act of Parliament to confer or grant degrees.
It is observed that Digital University of Skill Resurgence, Wardha is neither enlisted under Section 2(f) or section 3 in the list of universities and not empowered to award degrees as per section 22 of UGC Act 1956.
Therefore UGC has cautioned the parents, students and other stakeholders to not to take admission in the self-styled institution which may jeopardize their career.
