Nachiket Joshi from Department of Physics, Sir Parashruambhau College, Pune qualifies both JAM (Joint Apptitude Test for Masters) and JEST (Joint Entrance Screening Test) Examinations.
JAM is being conducted from 2004 to provide admissions to M.Sc. (Four Semesters), Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D., M.Sc.-Ph.D. Dual Degree, etc. Programmes at the IITs and Integrated Ph.D. Degree Programmes at IISc for consolidating Science as a career option for bright students. These postgraduate programmes at IITs and IISc offer high quality education in their respective disciplines, comparable to the best in the world. The curricula for these programmes are designed to provide opportunities to the students to develop academic talent leading to challenging and rewarding professional life.
Students seeking admission for a Ph.D / Integrated Ph.D Programme in Physics or Theoretical Computer Science or Neuroscience or Computational Biology in one of the Participating Institutes appear for the Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST).
Nachiket was born in Kolhapur and brought up in pune. He studied in “Navin Marathi Shala, Shaniwar Peth” till 4th grade and after that he studied in “New English School, Tilak Road” till 10th grade and then he did his 11th, 12th and B.Sc from S.P. college. In 12th he appeared and cleared both JEE mains and Advance but could not join IIT as he could not meet the criteria of 75% by 12 marks. He never left the deream of joining the IITs and decided to appear for JAM and JEST in his most liking subject. He obtained an AIR 587 in JAM and AIR 207 in JEST in 2020. He was having passion for science and experimentation since his childhood. He did numerous activities since 5th grade. He made many circuits since 10 grade and was even invited in IUCAA outreach programme by Padmashree Aravind Gupta for toy making and for explaining the working of his circuit. He was also invited to Madhava Maths Camp in Ahmedabad during 2nd year of his graduation. He also got and Internship of a month in an outreach programme held at IUCCA.
Currently he has obtained admission in IIT Bhilai and pursuing his Masters Degree.
