I am a final year B.Tech (Marine Engineering) student at Indian Maritime University Mumbai port campus. I have completed my schooling as well as my junior college in Pune which is my hometown. My father is a junior engineer in Pimpri- Chinchwad Municipal Corporation. I always had an ambition of joining the defence forces, but this ambition of mine was fueled to a greater extent when I joined my current college. It is here where I learnt more about ships and my curiosity towards ships grew exponentially. Thus I knew that I had everything that was required to have a go at the CDS exam and the SSB interview that follows. The only challenge before me was getting rid of the habit of holding back myself and not showing my strengths in the required way. That’s when Brig Bodhe’s Career Institute (BBCI) came to my rescue. Joining BBCI was probably the best decision taken by me during my preparation for the SSB interview. I joined BBCI for the period of one month after I had cleared my CDS Exam. There was not a single day when I didn’t learn anything new and productive. My journey was a cake walk under the guidance and experience of Brig. Bodhe Sir, which helped me crack the SSB interview in my first attempt itself. Sir made sure that every element of the SSB interview was covered and nothing was left out. He paid personal attention towards every student but made sure that no spoon feeding was done from his side. Sir gave us new current topics for preparation and asked us to speak on them in the class in front of everyone. This activity helped me overcome my fear of speaking in front of an audience and also helped me learn the art of improvising while giving lectures. He made sure that he linked the current topics with static topics like history, geography, and polity. Regular Group discussions at BBCI help me lose my shyness for speaking out my views in a group and made me bold enough for my future. Talking about the preparation for the SSB , I vividly remember the short interview which sir had taken when I had just joined BBCI. That interview helped me in to introspect and analyze my strengths and weaknesses during my one month of preparation. Sir helped me organize my achievements and also portray them in a better manner in front of the IO. In activities like PPDT and TAT sir made sure that I don’t memorize stories but rather look at the picture more carefully, observe every minute detail and then pen down my views in a better way. The Psyche faculty at BBCI helped me know, how I can show what I think to the psychologist in correct way . The faculty for GTO made sure that I was aware of every task and obstacle and I was at my 100% best during all the GTO tasks. Frankly BBCI helped me to rediscover myself and gave me the confidence that was needed to face the SSB Interview. I owe all of my success in the SSB Interviews to BBCI and especially Brig. Bodhe Sir. According to me every defense aspirant should choose BBCI and see themselves transform into future officers under a magician named Brig. Bodhe Sir.
