Innovation, Research, and Entrepreneurship, are key aspects that are at the core of the IIT Madras eco-system. The Institute is known for providing a conducive environment that encourages students to go above and beyond the academic requirements to innovate.
IIT Madras is proud and excited to share that we have been again Ranked as No.1 Institute for Innovations in the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA), by the Innovation Cell of MHRD, Government of India for the year 2020, in the category of ‘Institute of National Importance, Central Universities & CFTIs. We were Ranked No.1 last year too, in the maiden edition of the Rankings and are happy to retain the place. ARIIA endeavours to rank educational institutions and universities, primarily based on innovation-related indicators, and encourages them to focus on high-quality research, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
The ceremony of ARIIA Rankings 2020 was held virtually and the award was announced by Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu, Hon’ble Vice President of India in the presence of Shri Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ Hon’ble Minister of Education & Shri Sanjay Dhotre, Hon’ble Minister of State (MoS) of Education, Govt. of India.
