Way back in My Engineering days, just finished by and I was hunting for an opportunity.
The Creative Engineers of my groups were part of the corporate world and the few were either preparing for flying across or were trying for public sectors.
Scene – 1
The situational time made me to get into the University Campus for seeking the Convocation Certificate, an achievement for me because the Engineering E is still an Error for me (the Monalisa smile roles over even now for the same).
Had finished the legalities and walked towards the Canteen, it was only for the “cutting Chay”. After having stepped about a kilometer or more finally reached the destination (the cutting chay but obviously had added the Vada pav).
Scene – 2
It was a huge building with wonderful ambience and the beautiful standstill, made me stunned. The walk to the canteen had already made me pass by with the campus’ natural beauty too, especially the Peacocks, the hometown for them.
The thought rolled over asking myself that this is the place that takes care of all the colleges, faculties, courses, etc. in the Western Maharashtra zone. The mindset with its depth made me count the number of colleges. The tentative touch was 400 +. Amazed!! … Thought who heads all this? The GK in me answered, “The Vice-Chancellor”.
Scene – 3
Why not just get in the building and see the inners? Had already stepped in crossing the security with my own world of thoughts. Enquired for the Vice-Chancellor’s cabin. The concern guided me accordingly.
A small chit was pushed forward to me by a P A reading about the purpose to meet. I was totally blind. The purpose I mentioned was, want to meet you only for 2 mins. The chit was back demanding the right purpose. Want to meet only for 2 mins. After a long wait of about half an hour I had a precious entry into the cabin searching for the Vice-Chancellor (it was vast geographically and so also with the books, trophies, antiques, etc.). Finally, I found the Hon.Vice-Chancellor Dr N J Pawar.
I had to stand for a while because the chairs were fully occupied.
It was my turn.
Yess! Jayant …. What is this 2 mins for?
The dialogue ignited the communication. I was well chaired by him (caught up with the modesty & respect he carries for others). 2 mins turned to 20 mins. I was offered with the Cup of Tea. The communication was engaged with the other parallel works from his side. This was for the first time I was meeting the very high profiled person who is directly connected with the real makers of India by educating them. After an hour or more because he had the meeting we had to end up.
Scene – 4
I was out with the stance that we generally carry while moving out from the theatre watching the movie. I was hung up.
This meet had taught me a lot. Education, intelligence, managerial skills, sympathy, modesty, respect so on so forth does carry its importance with respect to an individual. Some chairs do have its name but those are positioned for the right persons only.
Scene – 5
The days passed by and I received a letter at my local residence. It was the “Thanks giving letter” from the Vice-Chancellor’s desk (This letter is still with me as an achievement).
But obviously the things were speechless from my end.
…since then there had been many times, I had been visiting the University…. I still remember the day…
Thank You Very Much Sir!!
